The "aquatred", an underwater treadmill, can be used for rehabilitation from injury or after a layoff, conditioning for peak fitness, prepping young horses for sales, fitting halter horses, and hydrotherapy of problem areas.  By utilizing the therapeutic benefits of water in combination with a treadmill and a jacuzzi, this system can benefit horses of all disciplines.  The horse exercises in a temperature controlled indoor swimming pool, incorporating the same muscles it normally uses at a brisk walk, while gaining strength from the water resistance.  The water level is usually kept at a height of five feet from the treadmill surface producing a partial buoyancy that reduces concussion by 40%.  The jacuzzi jets can be used for additional therapeutic benefit to massage the muscles and relieve soreness and improve circulation.  In addition to the multiple physical benefits the aquatred provides, it also can be a great way to relax an overly uptight horse or just to simply give a "mental break" to those in rigorous training regimens.

Therapy sessions in the aquatred are available for haul-ins by appointment or your horse can be boarded in our facility for daily therapy.  Boarding rates include feeding (per owner instruction), grooming, bedding, aquatred sessions daily Monday through Saturday, and exercise on our freestyle horse exerciser.   Feel free to call for more information or to make an appointment.
